Andrew Chapman

Andrew Chapman began dancing at the age of six at Seaside Music Theater School of the Arts in Daytona Beach, FL. This led to many productions with Seaside Music Theater, various dance competitions, and eventually a BFA from Florida State University’s School of Dance. Andy attended the Bessie Schonberg Residency at The Yard, where he began dabbling in dance film. He has been dancing with BARKIN/SELISSEN PROJECT since 2012. Other credits include dance film with Michelle Fletcher, and the fall 2013 season at the Metropolitan Opera.


Marie Douesnard Strevens

Marie Douesnard Strevens was born in France, where she began her ballet training at the age of 8. She graduated from the Conservatory of Nantes in ballet and contemporary dance, then moved to Paris where she continued her dance studies in the professional training program at ‘la Menagerie de Verre.’‎ Marie has been in New York since 2007, where she has had the pleasure of working with choreographers Julian Barnett, Yung Li Chen, Koran Basaran, Jessica Morgan, Seth Miner, Ofelia Loreto de Mola, and Isabel Gotzkowsky / IGaF. Marie met Kyla and Aaron dancing for Isabel, and has been a member of the BARKIN/SELISSEN PROJECT family since 2012. Marie is also very happy sharing her extensive knowledge of the human body and movement by teaching dance and Pilates at various facilities throughout Manhattan.

Aidan Feldman
Aidan Feldman

Aidan Feldman works as a developer by day, dancer by night. He has been living in NYC since graduating from University of Michigan with degrees in Computer Science and Dance. Aidan performs with danceTactics, Artichoke Dance Company, David Capps, and Chavasse Dance & Performance, and is pleased to be working with B/S P. Outside of the dance world, he gives tech talks and organizes meetups, teaches people to code at CUNY and NYU, and really likes bikes.

Ross Katen

Ross Katen, originally from Oregon, trained at Westside Dance Academy, The Portland Ballet, and Arts & Communication Magnet Academy. Additionally Ross has studied at The Juilliard School, Nashville Ballet, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance. Ross graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2013 with a BFA in Dance. After graduating Ross joined the Limón Dance Company performing works by José Limón, Carla Maxwell, Seán Curran, and Rodrigo Pederneiras. He is also a founding member of Chihiro Shimizu and Artists and Chuck Wilt’s Una Projects. Other credits include work by Chris Masters, Alex Ketley, Mark Morris, Donald McKayle, John Magnus, Iain Rowe, Chase Brock, Chihiro Shimizu and Chuck Wilt.

Christopher Ralph

Christopher Ralph was born and raised in Long Island, N.Y. He began his dance training at Holy Trinity High School, where he was accepted into the theater/dance program lead by Cathy Murphy and James Whore. While training at school he simultaneously attended classes at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway with teachers such as Peter Schabel, Dorrit Koppel, Frank Hatchett and Chio Yamada. In 2005, Christopher attended SUNY Purchase College to complete his B.F.A in Dance. He has performed works by Lauri Stallings, Nick Ross, Yung-li Chen and Doug Varone, and currently works with the DASH ensemble, CorbinDances, Aszure Barton and Artists, and BARKIN/SELISSEN PROJECT. Christopher has performed in many spaces in NY including Ailey Citigroup Theatre, Reverb Festival, DRA events, Dance Theater Workshop, Danspace Project, The Joyce Theater and Joyce SoHo. He has toured in many countries throughout his career including Greece, Indonesia, London, Spain, Japan, and China. Known for his fast paced clear movement quality, Christopher has also been commissioned as an emerging choreographer by Dance Iquail and recently by Dixon Place.


Kendra Isobel Samson

Kendra Isobel Samson received her formal training at the Philippine High School for the Arts and the Cultural Center of the Philippines Dance School as a national government scholar. She moved to New York City to attend The Juilliard School on a full scholarship and obtained her BFA in Dance in 2009. Her recent performances include working with Pascal Rekoert, Sydney Schiff and Janis Brenner. She is happy to be dancing with BARKIN/SELISSEN PROJECT! Kendra also founded and runs Project Philippines, a yearly arts outreach program that brings accessible performing arts workshops to communities in the Philippines.

Kristi Ann Schopfer

Kristi Ann Schopfer may not have one town to claim as ‘native’, but she’s happily found a home in Bushwick, Brooklyn with two fellow dancing graduates of the College at Brockport, where she received a BFA in Dance and a minor in Studio Art. This is also where she met Rebecca Sproul, now Gushue Moving Arts, with whom she has danced consistently since 2007. After a choreographic project with Janis Brenner in 2010, Kristi Ann was introduced to the dynamic duo that is Kyla and Aaron of BARKIN/SELISSEN PROJECT. She joined the B/S P family in 2012, as both dance artist and managing assistant. In her “spare time”, she’s found herself working with various choreographers in unique and investigative interdisciplinary projects. She is currently a player in the developing new work ‘Hive’ with Sam Householder. Kristi Ann is also a NASM CPT and Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and was featured in Men’s Fitness 2012 as one of the ‘7 Best Female Trainers That Can Kick Your Butt’.
